The MRC LMS & Imperial College is looking for a Cryo-EM research Scientist.

The LMS is an international and interdisciplinary research institute in London with 30+ high profile research groups. Electron microscopy has been identified as a key technology at the ICL/LMS to support investigation into epigenetic mechanisms, large molecular machines involved in DNA transactions and chromosome structure.

We are looking for a motivated cryo-EM research scientist to manage the EM requirements of the institute. You will support research groups in structurally characterising proteins using cryo-EM, particularly by single particle analysis. The position is also suited for postdocs/PhDs, who want to transition into a facility manager role.

Currently, the LMS is equipped with a CM200 FEG transmission cryo-electron microscope, a fast Tietz 2k camera and a sample preparation suite including a Vitrobot Mark IV. The plan is to expand the EM capacity of the LMS significantly over the next few years - thus the post offers significant development potential.

This is a full-time, three-year position (HM2017109), with possibility for extension.
