Dear 3DEM community,

On behalf of colleagues at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, I am happy to announce the availability of a faculty position for an investigator using cryo-EM methods.

Best wishes,

Scientist Position in Cryo-Electron Microscopy for Cancer Research

The Princess Margaret Research Institute at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) in Toronto is seeking candidates who have an outstanding research track record using cryo-EM for a position at the level of Scientist. Highly productive and internationally regarded applicants may also be considered at the Senior Scientist level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree(s) (or equivalent), >2 years of post-doctoral experience, and a proven track record, as evinced by high-impact publications. Highest priority will be given to those with interests and expertise in high-resolution cryo-electron microscopy of large complex systems. Successful candidates should also possess general knowledge and expertise in structural biology, biochemistry, and biophysics.

The PM is the largest centre for cancer research in Canada, and amongst one of the largest in North America with over 160 research scientists on staff covering the full spectrum of basic fundamental and applied research. Its downtown location adjacent to other major Toronto institutions such as the Hospital for Sick Children, the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, the Toronto General Research Institute and the University of Toronto campus, provides an extraordinarily rich scientific environment which includes a world-renown structural biology community. There will be a highest-end cryo-EM instrument to be installed in Toronto in the spring of 2017, which will be readily available to successful candidates, in addition to specimen preparation and screening instruments at PM.

Applicants will also be eligible for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the graduate Department of Medical Biophysics and/or other appropriate departments in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Interested candidates should send their CV, including a Research Statement and three letters of references to:
