Dear all,

please find a Group leader position call open in our department of Integrated Structural Biology at the Centre for Integrative Biology / IGBMC, Strasbourg, France.

With best regards,

INSTITUTE OF GENETICS AND MOLECULAR AND CELLULAR BIOLOGY

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS - GROUP LEADER POSITION

Integrated Structural Biology Department

One of the leading biomedical research centres in Europe, IGBMC, brings together more than 700 researchers, PhD students and scientific staff grouped in 50 research teams and 11 scientific services and core facilities. IGBMC is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in life sciences, ranging from structural analysis of proteins to human genetics, stem cells, biophysics, regulation of gene expression and the physiopathology of the mouse. http://www.igbmc.fr/

Under the Laboratory of Excellence initiative (Labex), a group leader position is open in the Integrated Structural Biology (ISB) department. The ISB department addresses the fundamental mechanisms regulating gene expression, epigenetics and chromatin in the normal and transformed states (http://www-igbmc.u-strasbg.fr/research/department/3/). Researchers utilize multi-resolution structural biology approaches in the field of eukaryotic gene expression at the transcriptional, epigenetic and translational level.

As part of an initiative to strengthen and expand its research, the ISB department is welcoming applications for a group leader position from candidates investigating the multiscale cellular organisation using structural approaches including cryo electron tomography, FIB/SEM or super-resolution microscopy.

Successful candidates are expected to develop ambitious, innovative and collaborative research programs, and should have an outstanding track record.

A start-up package will be provided to the appointed group leader, and the successful candidate will benefit from office space and access to the IGBMC platforms and services, including those provided through the French and European Infrastructures for Integrated Structural Biology, FRISBI and Instruct: http://frisbi.eu/ and https://www.structuralbiology.eu/ hosted at the Centre for Integrative Biology (CBI) http://www.igbmc.fr/grandesstructures/cbi/ which comprises cutting-edge instrumentation such as Titan Krios and Polara electron microscopes equipped with direct electron detectors, FIB/SEM and super-resolution microscopy. The new group is expected to start in 2017.

Your application:
The application should be a single PDF file containing a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, names and contact details of three referees, a brief description (2 to 4 pages) of past achievements and a detailed description (4 to 5 pages) of future research plans.

Applications must be sent by 30 July 2016 and interviews will be held in September 2016.
Please send your application to Labex-INRT at igbmc.fr<mailto:Labex-INRT at igbmc.fr>
