A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Wei Dai at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Major research efforts in the lab are focused on protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases and bacterial microcompartment structure. The lab is hosted in the Center for Integrative Proteomics Research, the home of the RCSB Protein Data Bank (PDB). In addition to a brand new cryoEM/ET facility that is equipped with a FEI Talos Arctica, K2, GIF, phase plate, and a correlative light and electron microscopy unit, core facilities housed within the Center include instrumentation for protein NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and hardware for high performance computing.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field. Background in one or more of the following fields is desirable: electron microscopy, cell biology, neuroscience, x-ray crystallography, fluorescence microscopy, and image analysis. Candidates with hands-on experience in cryo-electron microscopy/tomography are especially encouraged to apply.
