Hello all,
The LeRoy Eyring Center for Solid State Science at ASU is hiring an Assistant/Associate Research Scientist to manage an incoming FEI Krios Cryo EM with K2 detector. Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry or Physics and expertise with cryo-EM techniques (including single-particle structural analysis, tomographic analysis and cryo-EM sample preparation), computer processing of single-particle and tomographic data sets, as well as expertise in developing cryo-EM techniques and applications. Development of an independent research program is encouraged and there are opportunities for research collaboration with ASU departments.

ASU has a long history as an international leader in the field of atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy-based research. The new Southwest Center for Aberration Corrected Microscopy, a purpose-built laboratory within the John M. Cowley Center for High Resolution Electron Microscopy, houses three aberration-corrected machines used for materials science. ASU also has programs in the determination of the structure and dynamics of protein using NMR and X-ray crystallography, including the use of the XFEL at SLAC and other new initiatives, such as a planned compact linac X-ray light source on campus and the new CASD center in the Biodesign Institute.
