[3dem] Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor Position at Arizona State University

The School of Molecular Sciences (SMS, sms.asu.edu) and the Center for
Applied Structural Discovery in the Biodesign Institute (CASD,
biodesign.asu.edu/applied-structural-discovery) seek applicants for a
tenure-track position as Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus in
biomolecular structure discovery and modeling. Rank and tenure status will
be commensurate with experience. Anticipated start date is August 2017. The
successful candidate will become part of an interdisciplinary team of
faculty within CASD that works on the development of revolutionary new
methods toward the exploration of structure and dynamics of biomolecules
with applications in bioenergy conversion and medicine.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous,
externally-funded research program at ASU with significant national and
international recognition, teach effectively at the undergraduate and
graduate levels, participate in professional and university service, and
collaborate with the faculty in the School of Molecular Sciences and the
Biodesign Institute.

*Minimum Qualifications:*

   - Doctorate by the time of appointment in chemistry, biochemistry,
   biophysics, physics or a related field
   - Experience in computational methods for structure determination and/or
   modeling
   - Demonstrated potential to establish a vigorous, externally-funded
   research program with national and international impact
   - A strong record of research accomplishments commensurate with rank
   - A strong interest in interdisciplinary research at the interface
   between chemistry, physics and biology
   - Commensurate with rank, a record of or demonstrated commitment to
   excellence in teaching

* Desired Qualifications:*

   - Experience in computational analysis of biomolecular structure and
   dynamics and/or expertise in theory and data analysis method development
   for X-ray diffraction and/or cryo-electron microscopy
   - Demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations
   and/or reaching out to diverse communities
