CryoEM Position available at Northeastern University

Northeastern University seeks to establish a CryoEM research program as a
cornerstone of a new initiative in Structural Biology.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Bouvé College of Health
Sciences’ School of Pharmacy and the Department of Bioengineering in the
College of Engineering at Northeastern University seek applicants for an
associate or full professor in the area of structural biology with
specialization in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) of membrane proteins
and/or other macromolecules and assemblies.

Candidates must have a current vigorous and internationally competitive
research program. The successful candidate will be expected to spearhead
development of a state-of-the-art electron microscopy facility to be funded
by Northeastern. The Cryo-EM facility will be located in the new 235,000
sq.ft. Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex to be opened in
2017. The goal of the new Complex is to create a 'research village' that
supports and fosters interdisciplinary research.

The Cryo EM facility will be a major step in advancing our program in
structural biology which is designated for substantial growth within this
interdisciplinary environment. Expansion of the structural biology and cryo
EM program will be driven through the committed availability of additional
faculty positions over the coming years.
