Dear Colleagues,

The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Center for Spatial Systems Biomedicine (OCSSB) and FEI Company are holding technology-based workshops dedicated to Cryo-TEM and CLEM on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from 12 - 5 pm. Take advantage of this chance to get valuable first-hand experience with cutting-edge microscopy equipment and workflow solutions in the state-of-the-art OHSU FEI Living Lab.

The Cryo-TEM workshop includes cryo-sectioning, preparation of vitreous thin films using the FEI Vitrobot, cryo-tomography and high-resolution cryo-TEM imaging using the FEI Titan Krios. Cryo techniques preserve sample integrity by maintaining the sample in its natural condition and state. The Titan Krios is the most powerful and most flexible high-resolution electron microscope for 3D characterization of biological samples.

The CLEM workshop includes sample preparation workflow for the iCorr (TEM with integrated florescent module) and the Helios DualBeam, as well as CorrSight, an easy-to-use MAPS software package allowing specimen positioning for precision light and electron microscopy on the same regions. Correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) combines the large field of view and specificity achieved with selective staining in fluorescence light microscopy (LM) with the high-resolution ultrastructural details revealed by electron microscopy (EM). The ability to bring these two scales of view together is invaluable for life sciences researchers.

Cost : Each workshop is only $15 per person and $5 per student (with valid student ID).

The number of attendees per workshop will be limited to ensure maximum hands-on training. Register today to secure your place in these informative and illuminating workshops.
