[3dem] PostDoc Position at the Karolinska Institute

Dear all,
A post-doc position is immediately available in electron microscopy and membrane biochemistry. The applicant will investigate the structure of membrane scaffolds by electron microscopy. The project aims to understand how synaptic scaffolds are formed.
Downstream of the protein structure, we are also interested in the biochemical/biophysical properties of these samples. Therefore, the candidate should possess a PhD in Biochemistry (or a related field) and experience in the purification of membrane proteins as well as knowledge of structural biology. A high level of motivation and good communication skills are required. The project is part of a larger collaborative effort between me and labs in- and outside of Sweden. Besides existing collaborations, there is ample opportunity to form new collaborations. Our lab has access to a full electron microscopy facility, including an electron microscope that will be equipped with a direct electron detector. The position is currently funded for one year.
