Post-doctoral position at MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge UK

A post-doctoral position is available in my group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. We characterise the structure and function of macromolecular complexes involved in key cellular processes such as gene expression (addition/removal of mRNA polyA tails) and DNA repair. We use a hybrid approach including electron microscopy, x-ray crystallography, yeast genetics and biochemistry.

The successful applicant will be awarded an MRC Training Fellowship, which is a three year training and development position for a postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed their doctoral studies or is moving into a new research discipline. The EM facility at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology includes a Titan Krios with two direct electron detectors and energy filter, and a Polara (also with a direct electron detector and energy filter).
