[3dem] Remote convergence angle control

Dear All,

I'm looking for a possibility to finely control the illumination
convergence angle of a 3-lens condenser system in an FEI Titan
microscope via some software remote control interface.

In the TEMScripting interface has the parameter "Intensity" serving that
purpose, controlling the C2 lens independently of C3. The only means
to varying C3 seems to be a parameter "Illuminated Area" which
unfortunately also adjusts C2.

Using free lens control I discovered a more controlled behaviour keeping
C2 fixed and varying C3. So that's what I want to do.

Reverting the calibrated connection between C2/C3 just to have a means
to control C3 side effect free seems to be too complicated - there
has to be a simpler solution.

I've had a rather extensive look at the registered type libraries with
several "bricks", one or two of them apparently dealing with the TEM
optics. But I was unable to get any documentation on what they are
actually doing, how to use them, or any other hint how to get my task
done.

I'm looking forward to any hints in that general direction.

Regards,
Marco Oster
