Research Assistant - Electron Microscopist
This is a full-time position based in Renovo Neural Inc.'s (RNI) laboratory in Cleveland, OH. Renovo is
at the forefront of exciting developments in neural diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's
disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. This position will support and extend advanced (3D)
biological electron microscopy (EM) applications and services. This position offers an excellent
opportunity for someone interested in cutting edge cellular imaging technology to work in a
collaborative academic and commercial environment.

Responsibilities:
_ Primary responsibilities include preparing and imaging samples using Serial-block Face
Scanning Electron Microscope (SigmaVP & 3view) in accordance with project requirements.
_ Assist in managing, processing and analysis of 3D-EM data.
_ Communication between team members and clients on the progress of projects, timelines,
and results.
_ Working with peers to identify, develop and standardize 3D-EM protocols for biological and
material science applications.
_ Train and manage other lab personnel when necessary.
Skills and Experience:
_ An Associates or Bachelor's degree in biological or material sciences.
_ Experience in electron microscopy imaging (strongly preferred). Training on the 3View/SBFSEM
system will be provided.
_ Applicants must be dexterous and have excellent eye hand coordination
_ Must be able to work independently and manage timelines to produce deliverables within
deadlines
_ Must have good general lab and computer skills, and have previous experience with
basic image processing software (eg Image)
_ Knowledge in computer programming (R, C++, Java eg) is a positive
_ Good communication skills and an ability to collaborate with others in cross-functional
teams is a necessity
