Dear Colleagues,

The FEI-OHSU Living Lab at Oregon Health & Science University in
Portland invites applications for two Research Associate positions
dedicated to computing infrastructure development and support for
high-throughput EM data processing. The successful candidates will
work with EM research groups at OHSU, specialists at FEI and engineers
at Intel to create an optimal computing environment for
high-resolution EM data analysis, and single-particle EM in
particular.

The first position is on programming and scientific computing, for
which the desirable qualifications include:

· Proficient software engineering skills in C/C++/Python.
· Working experience with MPI and computer cluster job management tools.
· Ability to train and interface with researchers to maximize the
throughput of the computing resource.

The second position is on EM application software development and
support, for which the desirable qualifications include:

· In-depth knowledge in image analysis and EM data processing.
· Working experience with major EM software packages.
· Ability to work with EM users to achieve their research goals.

The FEI-OHSU Living Lab is equipped with a Titan Krios cryo-electron
microscope (including direct detectors), a Helios DualBeam microscope,
an integrated electron and light microscope (Tecnai iCorr), a
super-resolution fluorescence microscope, and other accessory
instruments. Intel, with their hardware and software expertise, is
providing high-performance computing support for EM data storage and
analysis, and has recently joined the effort with the OHSU research
community in developing and utilizing advanced computing architectures
for “big data” image analysis.

Applicants should send a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and the
names of three references to Ms. Norene Jelliffe (jelliffe at ohsu.edu).
Application review will start immediately and the positions will
remain open until filled.

Regards,

James
