A 2 years post-doctoral position is available at the Laboratoire de
Physique des Solides (University Paris XI) to study DNA-DNA interactions
and DNA conformation in confined and condensed state. We are
particularly interested in the structure of DNA inside the bacteriophage
capsid. The project includes bacteriophage and bacterial receptor
protein purification, and imaging and analysis by cryo-electron
microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy of vitreous sections (CEMOVIS) and
cryo-electron tomography. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary
team including physicists and biologists specialized in DNA, with
expertise in cryoTEM and Xray diffraction.

The successful candidate should have a PhD or equivalent in structural
biology or biophysics and previous experience in cryoelectron microscopy
and/or virus and protein purification.

Applications including a CV, statement of interests and the names of two
references should be send to francoise.livolant at u-psud.fr
