Dear All

Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), are seeking a foundation
Scientific Director to establish and lead the Centre for Structural
Cryo-Electron Microscopy. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated
track record in determining protein structures using single particle
approaches and in publishing their work at the highest level.

The Cryo EM centre will be located in newly renovated space and have
excellent collaborative opportunities at Monash both with the protein
crystallography community (~150 scientists / 15 different groups), the
cellular imaging community, the materials science EM community and the
Australian Synchrotron. Extensive European linkages will also be encouraged
through Monash University / University of Warwick (UK) partnership.
Funding for establishing and equipping the facility has already been raised.

A highly competitive relocation, academic support and ongoing salary
package is available. We particularly encourage applications from Junior
faculty (or equivalent) scientists with outstanding track records who are
seeking to establish an independent research team.

Please send expressions of interest, together with a CV to
Elaine.Pearson at monash.edu.

Yours sincerely

James Whisstock
