Research Engineer in transmission electron microscopy
INSERM U759 - Integrative Imaging department. Cell and Tissue Imaging Platform

Full time, fixed term appointment until possible recruitment for a permanent position by competitive examination

We are seeking a motivated Research Engineer to undertake the supervision of an analytical TEM in the context of the Cell and Tissue Imaging Platform located at the Integrative Institut Curie-INSERM Imaging Department. The recruited person will integrated a group composed by permanent scientists and engineers specialized in different microscopy techniques and software development for chemical and structural imaging studies based on nano-SIMS and electron microscopy. She/he should have as main missions

·         Management and maintenance of a cryo-electron microscope JEOL 220OFS equipped by STEM and tomography.

·         Welcome of platform users and provide them training and support.

·         Training and advice to users in biological samples preparation

·         Participation in projects of new methodological developments.

·         Data acquisition for research projects of the department.

Applicants should have a PhD in Physics or Biology. Strong experience in electron microscopy and maintenance of FEG microscopes, experience in at least one of the following image acquisition modes Cryo-TEM, STEM, EFTEM as well as practice in biological sample preparation are required. Experience in EELS and bases of programming will be appreciated.

Gross Salary: According with INSERM salary tables depending on previous experience.
