[3dem] postdoc position in cryo-EM method development

We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join the group of Sjors
Scheres to work on the development of new methodologies, such as
maximum likelihood image refinement schemes, for single-particle
cryo-EM. Our current research focuses on reliable structure
determination of relatively small (~200-400 kDa) macromolecular
complexes with no or low symmetry and that may occur in multiple
conformations. Collaborations with experimental groups form an
essential part of our research.

Depending on your skills, you will carry out research using
computational methods and/or design and perform electron microscopy
data collection experiments. You will be highly motivated and have a
PhD in structural biology, bioinformatics or a related subject, good
communication skills and a strong analytical mind. You should either
have experience in scientific programming, or in electron microscopy
with an interest in methods development.

The successful candidate will be awarded a 3 year Career Development
Fellowship, this is a training and development position for a
postdoctoral scientist who has recently completed his or her doctoral
studies or is moving into a new research discipline. Your salary will
be supported by a flexible pay and reward policy, 30 days annual leave
