Senior Research Support Associate

Description:
The Senior Research Support Associate position is available in the Departments of Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology at the Pennsylvania State University Hershey Medical Center, in the laboratory of Dr. Susan Hafenstein.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Vitrification of samples
CryoEM data collection for single particle and tomography 
Familiarity with sectioning techniques, including freeze substitution
Occasional travel will be required for the first 1-2 years of employment.

General responsibilities include:
Overseeing operational research activities including data collection, evaluation, and analysis for a segment of a research project
Assisting faculty researchers in the design of projects and the preparation of proposals
Operation of complex scientific equipment with the responsibility for the collection of critical research data
Perform complex laboratory work with responsibility for development of methods and procedures
Supervise and train other professional project personnel and evaluate project progress

Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent knowledge
2 years work-related experience 

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience
