From 12th April to 16th April

At the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC),
Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

NIBSC, in conjunction with LEICA are holding a CEMOVIS workshop. The
course will be held at the NIBSC Imaging laboratory, South Mimms,
Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, UK for 5 days commencing Monday 12th April
through to Friday 16th April 2010. Delegate numbers will be strictly

The ethos of the course is very much "hands-on" with technical support
lectures from scientists in these fields and application support from
LEICA (BAL-TEC) and invited specialists from University of Cambridge
(Benoit Zuber), University of Lausanne (Jacques Dubochet), Leica
(Stephen Murray) and Diatome (Helmut Gnaegi).

The course will embrace all aspects of CEMOVIS, including theory, sample
preparation (high pressure freezing), sectioning and imaging.

We invite PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and junior scientists with
a life sciences background interested in preparation and imaging of
biological specimens, such as tissue, cells, organelles and
