    Faculty Position in the Markey Center for Structural Biology
    Department of Biological Sciences Purdue University

The Department of Biological Sciences, Purdue University, invites 
applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Structural Biology 
associated with the Lucille P. Markey Center for Structural Biology 
(http://www-structure.bio.purdue.edu/).  Potential areas of research 
interest include but are not limited to structural biology of viruses, 
bacterial pathogens, and membrane proteins.

Purdue University and the Department of Biological Sciences 
(http://www.bio.purdue.edu/) are committed to expanding structural 
biology research and exploiting state-of-the-art laboratories in the new 
Hockmeyer Hall of Structural Biology, expected to be completed in the 
fall of 2009.  The successful candidate will utilize the outstanding, 
staffed facilities for X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and 
cryo-electron microscopy, including electron tomography, and will have 
opportunities to interact with colleagues in many disciplines and 
interdisciplinary centers.  Advanced imaging analysis and other 
biophysical instrumentation are available at the neighboring Bindley 
Bioscience Center and the Birck Nanotechnology Center

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate discipline 
and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience.  We expect to fill 
academic year appointments at the Assistant Professor level, but 
appointments at the Associate Professor level will be considered.
