[3dem] Postdoctoral position in cryo-EM of poliovirus

My laboratory is interested in structural characterization of the cell- 
entry pathway of poliovirus.  I invite interested persons to apply for  
a post-doctoral position in my laboratory to study asymmetric aspects  
of that process.  The two-year position is funded by an NIH grant.   
The study is part of a long-term collaboration with the laboratory of  
James Hogle at Harvard Medical School.

The ideal applicant will have a Ph.D. in structural biology or  
mathematics.  Those with experience in image processing of cryo-EM  
images (including algorithm development) are especially encouraged to  
apply.  I invite applications from people with experience in  
biophysics, as well.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and  
NIH guidelines.  The position is available immediately.  Applications  
will be accepted until the position is filled.

Brigham Young University is located in Provo, Utah, a city of about  
120,000 people located about one-hour drive south of Salt Lake City.   
BYU has approximately 30,000 students and a strong academic  
tradition.  Abundant recreational opportunities abound in the  
surrounding mountains and deserts.  Many national parks and monuments,  
including Yellowstone, Zion, and Grand Canyon, are within a one-day  
drive of Provo.  Cultural opportunities also abound in Provo and Salt  
Lake City from museums and professional organizations (e.g. Utah  
Symphony) to outstanding university groups and family or amateur  
groups.  For example, BYU has outstanding arts programs (including  
music and dance), with an art museum and frequent performances.  Provo  
also has an arts center with frequent performances.
