Dear Andy,

At some point, XMIPP compiled under cygwin, but that's quite some time
ago and I don't know whether that is still the case. Feel free to try it
out, but we cannot provide support for cygwin compilation. Installing
XMIPP on a Linux system should be much easier (for instructions see
http://xmipp.cnb.csic.es/twiki/bin/view/Xmipp/InstallingTheSoftware). If
you encounter any problems with that, you can ask us for help at xmipp
at cnb dot csic dot es.

best wishes,
Sjors

While we downloaded Cygwin from some different sources on the web, none of them, unfortunately, provided all the necessary libraries for running all of these successfully. While we donot face problems with our LINUX boxes or Macs, we are unable to resolve the above mentioned issue.
