[3dem] how to clean the blotting pad of the vitrobot?

Dear all,

We plan to freeze some pathogenic virus on our vitrobot. But we do not know
how to clean the blotting pad after finishing the freezing. During the
freezing process, the blotting paper get wet and the black circular sponge
pad next to it will absorb the pathogenic virus.   Could you share your
experience about how to clean the sponge pad in order to kill the virus?
