Postdoctoral position available in cryo-EM at the Brigham
and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA

A postdoctoral position is immediately available at the
Samso laboratory in the Department of Anesthesia at Brigham
and Women's Hospital. Our group focuses on the structural
analysis of macromolecular complexes using cryo-electron
microscopy and single-particle analysis. Areas of interest
include ion channels and cytoskeletal proteins. 

The laboratory is fully equipped for all aspects of
biochemistry and molecular biology and has direct access to
the molecular EM facility at Harvard Medical School. This
facility, situated 500 ft away from our laboratory, is
endowed with a 100 kV Philips CM10, a 120 kV Tecnai T12, a
200 kV FEG Tecnai F20, a 300 kV Tecnai G2 Polara with He
cooled stage, and all the ancillary equipment (evaporator,
Vitrobot cryo-plunger, high-resolution scanner). Our
laboratory is member of the Structural Biology grid
computing platform at the Harvard Medical School which
includes access to high-performance computing.  

Qualifications include a Ph.D. degree with experience in
structural biology, electron microscopy, and/or image
processing.  Interested candidates should send a cover
