or Grade 7 (starting salary £26,402) depending on experience.

We are seeking a structural biologist, computational image processor, 
electron microscopist or biochemist for structural studies of 
recombinant dynein motor proteins using cryo-electron microscopy.
The post is available from 1st January 2007 for a fixed term of up to 
four years in Dr Stan Burgess’ lab funded by BBSRC. Experience of 
cryo-electron microscopy and three-dimensional image processing of 
single particles is highly desirable. Recombinant proteins will be 
supplied by our collaborator Prof. Kazuo Sutoh (University of Tokyo). 
Cryo-microscopy will be performed using a Technai F20 microscope fitted 
with a 4k CCD camera. Some negative stain work will also be used for 
initial characterization of new constructs. Image processing will be 
performed using SPIDER, Imagic and EMAN on a 150-processor Linux 
cluster and numerous graphics workstations.
