The toolbar described below provides an easily accessible route to
the EMsearch, EM Atlas pages and EMdep facilities available at the EBI
(as well as access to the PDB and other databases, cf below).

Biobar - A mozilla/firefox search toolbar for bioinformatics

Biobar is a power browsing mozilla/firefox toolbar for searching 
biological databases. The toolbar installs seamlessly on 
firefox(0.8-1.0+), mozilla (1.4-1.8+) and netscape 7.0 browsers on all 
operating systems. The toolbar allows a biologist to browse and retrieve 
data from Genomic, Proteomic, Functional, Literature, Taxonomic, 
Structural, Plant and Animal-specific databases right from the browser. 
The current version of biobar (1.2.3) allows searching from the following 
sources:

Data Collections: EBI, NCBI and DDBJ
Sequence:  EMBL, Ensembl, UniProt, Glovar, ASD, InterPro, Integr8, Pfam, 
ExPASy
Structure: MSD, RCSB, PDBJ, NDB, OCA, PDBSum, EDS, CATH, SCOP, EMDB
Function:  GO, Reactome, IntAct, BioCyc, aMAZE, KEGG
Plant:  Gramene, MaizeGDB
Animal: Yeast Genome Database (SGD), Flybase, Wormbase, Rat Genome 
Database (RDG), Mouse Genome Informatics (MGD) and Zebrafish Information 
Network (ZFIN)

The main menu provides easy links to many bioinformatics services 
including sequence, structural and analysis tools. The menu also contains 
links to major data deposition sites for sequence and structural data. An 
Options menu can be used to configure a default search database, sets of 
databases to show on the toolbar and also choose mirrors sites for some 
databases.
