How can formvar be removed from holey carbon films?

Hi everyone,

I have a small question regarding the removal of formvar from home-made
holey carbon films.

We are very much capable of making very nice holey films using
formvar-chloroform-glycerol-water, and of preventing the formation of
pseudoholes and so on. There still remains one problem and that is to
completely wash away the formvar from underneath the carbon layer. We
currently put the grids overnight on chloroform-soaked filter papers but
that either does not removes the formvar sufficiently or destroyes the film
alltogether.

Does anybody had any similar experiences and/or has any suggestions or other
solutions.

Thanx,

Roman
