Postdoctoral Positions at New York University
Structural Biology of ATP-dependent Ion Pumps

Postdoctoral research positions are available for crystallographic
studies of ATP-dependent ion pumps.  We have funded projects on several
members of this family, including CaATPase, Na,K-ATPase, Kdp, CopA,
CopB, ZntA and CadA.  Aims are to understand the structural dynamics
that drive the ion transport reaction cycle, the structural mechanisms
of autoregulation, and the architectural specializations of the soft
metal pumps.  Both cryoelectron microscopy and x-ray crystallography
will be employed for structure determinations.  Other methods include
heterologous protein expression from E. coli, protein purification,
reconstitution and functional analysis, 2D and 3D crystallization.  Our
laboratory is part of a Structural Biology Program in the Skirball
Institute at New York University School of Medicine, located in midtown
Manhattan.  In addition to a living wage, the successful candidate will
be offered local housing and have access to the greatest, most diverse
city in the world.  Interested candidates with experience in any or all
