Two post-doctoral positions available at Imperial College, London

TWO POST-DOCTORAL POSITIONS
Two 3-year post-doctoral positions are available, one each in the
laboratories of Dr. Jon Nield and Prof. James Barber, to study structure
and function relationships of photosynthetic complexes. Techniques to be
engaged will cover a wide-range of biochemical and biophysical methods,
including their training where necessary, such as electron
cryo-microscopy, single particle analysis and spectroscopic
measurements. Experience in electron microscopy and/or image analysis
will be viewed as beneficial, but not essential. Locally, Imperial
College hosts 3 state-of-the-art electron microscopes within the
BBSRC-funded UK Centre for Structural Biology. Our own labs house
several new computing clusters and all other equipment necessary to
perform the studies. London itself offers all the benefits expected of a
major capital city. Additionally, a wide range of opportunities for both
national and international scientific collaboration is in place.

Anticipated starting dates: between Oct. 1st 2002 and Jan. 1st 2003.
The salary is expected to be ~£19,681-21,503k pa.
The London Allowance payment of £2,154 is also made to all staff working
in central London.
