POSTDOC POSITION AVAILABLE
at the Weizmann Institute of Science

Postdoc wanted for a project involving the study of
DNA-protein complexes produced by the plant-transforming
bacterium Agrobacterium tumefaciens (by single-particle and helical reconstruction techniques),
and electron tomography of
their interaction with the nuclear pore. The host lab is an
interdisciplinary group in physics, chemistry, and biology. We run
an integrated program on nuclear transport, with particular
emphasis on nuclear import of DNA.
The Weizmann Institute's electron microscopy center has been
renovated recently. It offers a state-of-the-art facility including a
new FEI F20 field-emission cryo-TEM equipped with a Tietz 1kX1k CCD
camera and FastScan camera, as well as an environmental field-emission SEM. Other
facilities include optical tweezers, confocal laser scanning
microscopy, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, and atomic
force microscopy.
The position is available immediately.
