I want to bring to your attention this opening

for a Principal Scientist in the department of Structural Biology at
Genentech.

With this search, we want to identify and recruit a structural biologist
with a computational focus. The selected candidate will leverage their
expertise
in computational techniques related to dynamics - molecular dynamics,
structural ensemble modeling, ensemble docking, and/or related methods
- together
with their experience in structure determination (X-ray or EM) to support
drug discovery.

I hope this new colleague will help us better and more potently leverage
cutting-edge tools and techniques related to protein and protein-ligand
dynamics, so that we leave less "on the table" with our datasets (e.g.
flexible loops near ligands, malleable parts of pockets, cryptic pockets,
dynamic protein-ligand or protein-protein interactions, non-obvious
conformational states etc). I also hope that, together with colleagues in
computational chemistry, machine learning scientists and other departments
at Genentech, they will contribute to improving our collective tooling,
infrastructure and workflows so that we better represent dynamics in our
structures, disseminate insights derived from dynamics to project teams,
and eventually increase our success rate in findings hits and leads.
