[3dem] RELION 5 web interface / nextPYP — Beta Call Update

Dear 3DEM Community,

Two days ago, we opened sign-ups for the self-hosted beta of our Open
OnDemand platform that bundles a RELION 5 web interface alongside nextPYP.
Thank you so much for the response to our beta-testing call — we are
genuinely grateful.

As we are running this effort on a non-profit basis to help the cryo-EM
community, our capacity for hands-on installation and support is limited.
We have now reached the number of beta sites that will keep us fully
engaged through the end of August. To make sure each pilot site gets the
careful setup and responsive support they need, we are temporarily closing
new beta sign-ups.

*What happens next:*
- *June–August:* We work directly with the confirmed pilot sites —
installing the platform, integrating with their Slurm queues, and gathering
feedback on real workflows.
- *September onwards:* Based on what we learn during pilot testing, we will
open a second wave of beta participation.
- *PractiCloud:* Continues development in parallel. We will notify everyone
on the interest list as soon as it is ready for early users.

If you would like to try the platform sooner

We are also preparing a self-installation guide (Open OnDemand + Slurm
prerequisites, deployment scripts, and admin runbook) that institutions can
use to stand up the platform on their own. We will post this as soon as it
is ready.
