Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the DCI–Bern Practical Workshop on CEMOVIS 2026, organised by the Institute of Anatomy (University of Bern), the MIC and DCI-Bern.

CEMOVIS (Cryo-Electron Microscopy of Vitreous Sections) allows the observation of thick, fully hydrated biological samples — tissues, pellets of cells or micro-organisms — in their native state, by combining high-pressure freezing with cryo-ultramicrotomy and cryo-TEM imaging.

This hands-on workshop is designed to introduce participants to the full CEMOVIS workflow — from high-pressure freezing through cryo-sectioning to cryo-TEM observation — under the guidance of experienced instructors, on samples provided by the organisers.

Two identical 3-day sessions in Bern: 13–15 July and 16–18 July 2026, 6 participants each.
