[3dem] IMC21 in Liverpool: Extended abstract deadline

Dear EM enthousiasts,

A quick reminder about the IMC21 – the “Olympics of Microscopy” – coming to Liverpool, UK, from 30 August-4 September 2026.
For the first time in 12 years, IMC returns to Europe, bringing together more than 3,000 microscopists, imaging specialists, and instrument manufacturers from across six continents.

This promises to be an excellent meeting for structural biologists in general, and for electron microscopists in particular.

Rouslan Efremov and I would especially like to draw your attention to a dedicated session on “Cryo-EM: Innovations in Macromolecular Structure Determination”, which will cover advances in sample preparation, cryo-EM instrumentation, image processing, and model building.

In addition, there are many other sessions that are of great interest to anyone interested in biological structure across scales, technology development and microscopy methods in related fields.

The deadline for abstract submission has recently been extended to 20 March 2026.
