dear colleagues,
I am writing to draw your attention to an upcoming meeting focused on structural mechanisms.
The Super Early Booking deadline for the Machines on Genes 2026 Harden Conference is approaching on 8 March. Registering by this date secures a €100 discount.
The meeting will be held in Heraklion, Crete, from 8 to 11 June 2026. Here is the draft programme:

As you can appreciate, most talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. We are particularly interested in receiving abstracts from early career researchers, and several support schemes are available to assist with their attendance. These include
* Bursaries: Three distinct schemes via the Biochemical Society.
* Prizes: Five presentation prizes (€1,000 each) sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung.

Meeting description: Timely and accurate nucleic acid transactions are essential for cell proliferation, homeostasis, and cell fate determination. To carry out these processes, molecular machines act on DNA and RNA to facilitate chromosome replication, epigenetic inheritance, DNA repair, transcription, and translation. The dynamics and context-dependent regulation of these machines are critical for their function but are often poorly understood.
Machines on Genes 2026 will bring together a diverse group of researchers that study complex molecular pathways by integrating biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, and molecular cell biology. We will highlight recent mechanistic discoveries and emerging technologies that enable breakthrough research. A central aim of the meeting is to showcase the contributions of early-career researchers working across disciplines, and to promote interactions between emerging and established leaders in the field.
We hope to see you in Heraklion in June 2026!
