Prof. Radostin Danev
Professor in Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo
Talk Title: Atomic resolution cryo-EM at 200keV
Bio: Professor Danev received his PhD from SOKENDAI, The Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Japan, and pioneered phase-plate electron microscopy, including the first cryo-EM single-particle and cryo-tomography applications. Later as a group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, he spearheaded  the invention of the Volta phase plate, and was recognized with the Burton Medal by Microscopy Society of America and the Ernst Ruska Prize by German Society for Electron Microscopy.

Prof. Eric A. Stach
Robert D. Bent Professor of Engineering, University of Pennsylvania.
Talk Title: Multimodal Operando Characterization of Bimetallic Nanocatalyst Evolution Under Realistic Reaction Conditions
Bio: Professor Stach obtained his PhD from University of Virginia, and has held positions in the National Center for Electron Microscopy, Berkeley, Purdue University and Brookhaven National Laboratory before his current one. He is a co-founder of Hummingbird Scientific and Agni Semiconductor, and is currently President of the Materials Research Society.
