Just a remark:
I have never seen this happening.
I always use a Harrick Plasma cleaner (just as a satisfied customer since > 30 years who does not want to spend too much money).
Setting LOW, for about 20(-45) sec.
I always use a clean glass slide on which the grids lie on. Always.
I always use "atmosphere" (= N2 / O2 + residuals) at little below 0.1 mbar.
