[3dem] Arctis FIB column issue

Hi All,

The L1 lens in our Arctis FIB column has been shorting. Spliting the 
column showed it was due to build up of dirt, which, TFS tells us, is 
redepositied material from the worn BDA and BAA apertures. Our Service 
Engineer cleaned the column but it did not solve the issue and so now we 
need to replace the column.

Our Arctis was installed only 18 months ago. We are concerned that this 
could become a recurring, very expensive, problem.

We know of a couple of other institutes that have seen the same problem 
but wondered if there are more. Has anyone else seen this issue with 
their Arctis, or their Hydra pFIBs (the columns are apparently 
identical)?
