Dear CryoEM Community,
We are excited to announce the 2025 CryoEM Modeling and Structure Validation Workshop, hosted by the Stanford-SLAC CryoEM Center (S2C2) from October 28–30, 2025. This hybrid workshop (in-person at SLAC and virtual via Zoom) is free to attend.
This workshop will bring together leading experts to share the latest best practices, tools, and techniques in cryoEM model building, refinement, visualization, validation, and deposition.
Confirmed speakers include:
* Paul Emsley & Lucrezia Catapano (MRC)
* Rachael Kretsch (Stanford University)
* Stephanie Wankowicz (Vanderbilt University)
* Tom Goddard (UCSF)
* Tristan Kroll (Altos Labs)
* Nigel Moriarty & Oleg Sobolev (LBNL)
* Jane Richardson (Duke University)
* Greg Pintilie (Stanford University)
* Stephen Burley & Justin Flatt (RCSB Protein Data Bank)
The program will feature expert-led talks and live demonstrations on Coot, Phenix, ISOLDE, ChimeraX, and other software tools, along with discussions on structure validation and deposition guidance. All sessions will be recorded and made available on the S2C2 website after the event for participants to review or catch up on missed content.
