The Biology Department at MIT seeks a *Research Scientist in cryoEM/ET* to
join our *CryoEM Facility* and support a growing community of researchers
in cryogenic sample preparation, imaging, and data analysis. The facility,
housed in the MIT.nano building, provides access to advanced
instrumentation, expert training, and collaborative support for projects
ranging from single-particle analysis (SPA) to *in situ* cellular studies.

Our instrumentation includes a *Titan Krios with BioQuantum-K3
detector*, a *Talos
Arctica with Falcon3EC and K3 detectors*, an Aquilos cryo-FIB/SEM (soon to
be replaced with a *HydraBio plasma FIB/SEM integrated with a Delmic
METEOR* fluorescence
microscope), and advanced vitrification tools (chameleon and Vitrobot Mark
IV). We also have dedicated computational resources to support
high-throughput data processing and analysis.

The CryoEM Facility serves a *diverse user community* from across the
Cambridge/Boston area, including faculty, postdocs, and students in
biology, chemistry, and related fields, as well as external researchers.
Staff scientists play a central role in enabling discovery by *training
users, developing workflows, and maintaining instrumentation*, while also
contributing expertise to collaborative research projects.
