[3dem] Postdoctoral Opening — In Situ Structural Biology (FAPESP Fellowship, Brazil)

Dear 3dem colleagues,

A fully funded postdoctoral fellowship (36 months) is available in my group
at the São Carlos Institute of Physics, University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP).

The project will investigate how metabolic enzymes assemble into filaments
inside cells by combining cryo-electron tomography (Cryo-ET) of FIB-milled
lamellae with single-particle analysis Cryo-EM.


*Facilities:*• Aquilos 2 Cryo-FIB/SEM-iFLM and Tundra Cryo-TEM with Falcon
C at IFSC-USP;
• Access to a Titan Krios at LNNano-CNPEM (Campinas);
• Active collaborations with international imaging centers.


*Profile we are looking for:*• PhD (awarded ≥ 2019) in Structural Biology,
Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, or related
areas;
• Documented experience in single-particle analysis (mandatory);
• Hands-on skills in vitrification (Cryo-FIB experience is a plus);
• Familiarity with Cryo-ET and/or SPA data processing;
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-disciplinary setting;
• Linux and Python skills are appreciated;
• Advanced English (spoken & written).


*Fellowship terms (FAPESP):*•  Monthly stipend: R$ 12,000.00 + research
