Dear All,
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you about the passing of our
great colleague Ueli Aebi. Lately he suffered from Parkinson disease and
now passed away at the age of 79.
Ueli is remembered by many of us as an outspoken, highly successful and
sincere scientist with a great heart and a very supportive attitude especially
towards younger student and upcoming researchers in structural biology
and 3-D electron microscopy. Science was his great passion, and I remember
many hours of animated discussions about anything from nuclear pores,
intermediate filaments, to actin structure and beyond.
We will miss him dearly, and my condolences extend to his great, supportive
family and close friends.
You will find a beautifully written obituary on the website of the Biocenter,

With Best Regards,
Andy
