Two Postdoc positions available in Cryo-EM
Dear community,

I would like to draw you attention to the availability of two open positions in my lab at the Institut Européen de Chimie et Biologie (IECB) in the city of Bordeaux, France. Both positions are available immediately, for a minimum duration of two years each.

One position will be funded by an ERC Starting Grant (up to 2023) and the second position will be funded by the ANR (French national funding agency).

Job description: The research will focus on studying cytosolic and mitochondrial mRNA translation regulation in eukaryotes, including pathogenic protozoa and plants, by cryo-EM and other molecular biology and biochemistry approaches. The group will investigate among other aspects the differences existing between mammals, plants and pathogenic protozoa (such as kinetoplastids species) in the structure and regulation of their translation complexes.

Requirements: The Postdoc candidates have ideally a PhD and/or experience in structural biology. However, PhDs in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or a related field are of course also eligible. Strong written and oral communication skills in English  are required and computational skills are a definite plus to the application. French is not required. Successful candidates will be strongly encouraged to apply for fellowships and additional funding.

We have a state-of-art EM facility counting all the related grid-preparation material, several microscopes counting a Talos Arctica (200kv) equipped with a Falcon 3 and a K2 cameras, an F20 and a CM120. A second high-end microscope more tomography-oriented will soon be added to the already existing infra structure. The IECB also counts NMR, X-ray crystallography and optical microscopy platforms.
