Dear colleagues,

Have you recently used cryo-electron tomography to make an exciting biological discovery? Or developed a new technology to improve the workflow and capability?

If so, we would like to enthusiastically invite you to submit an abstract for the Biological Sciences Symposium “Cryo-electron Tomography: Present Capabilities and Future Potential” at the Microscopy & Microanalysis 2021 meeting!

We aim to feature an exciting line-up of speakers involved in cutting-edge research and technology development for cryo-electron tomography applications, and we are currently seeking speakers for our dynamic symposium sessions. We encourage both academic and industry researchers at all career levels to submit abstracts. We will select 10 abstracts for 15-minute oral presentations, with the opportunity for the remaining submitted abstracts to be selected as part of the symposium poster sessions.

To submit an abstract, please visit the meeting homepage ((https://www.microscopy.org/MandM/2021/ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.microscopy.org/MandM/2021/__;!!Mih3wA!TbbIbm57v0vmdGAG68FPjcOz5o3vRNvpwjSvkg5IaJFPIAfEw0TacH3arbtUSyYmFA$>). The deadline for abstract submission is February 18, 2021. The meeting is currently scheduled as an in-person meeting to be held in Pittsburgh, PA, USA during August 1-5, 2021.

We look forward to learning about your exciting tomography work, and hope you will join us at the M&M 2021 meeting!

Sincerely,

Danielle Grotjahn (Scripps Research)
Yi-Wei Chang (University of Pennsylvania)
Matt Swulius (Penn State College of Medicine)
