Dear 3DEM Colleagues,

The Department of Structural Biology at Genentech is seeking a highly
talented and motivated structural biologist with expertise in cryo-electron
microscopy (cryoEM) and advanced image processing methods to join our
Department as a *Scientist* (level and compensation *comparable to
Assistant Professor* in a top university).

We are specifically interested in one of the two following profiles:

*High-resolution tomography and/or in-situ cryoEM specialist:* In this
position, he/she will drive a new effort in our Department to establish
cryo-electron tomography and in-situ cryoEM as tools to determine
high-resolution structures of relevant drug discovery targets. He/she will
help optimize our existing capabilities in untilted single particle
analysis and integrate new tilt-based and in situ techniques into our
drug-discovery pipeline support.

*Methods and software developer:* In this position, he/she will be
responsible for building, customizing, and/or optimizing algorithms,
software packages and/or software and data pipelines tailored to iterative,
high-resolution structure determination of targets of importance in basic
research and drug discovery using single-particle cryoEM.

Our cryoEM team supports a large number of drug discovery as well as
research projects and operates an on-site facility that includes two 200
keV microscopes (Talos/Ceta-D and Glacios/K2), and two Krios systems
(equipped with energy filters and K2/K3 cameras).

A career at Genentech is an incredibly fulfilling experience if you are
passionate about your science and technology and if you love collaborating.
The research environment is superb, with very generous support for the
experiments and projects, and a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive
culture.

Alexis Rohou (rohou.alexis at gene.com) or I (claudio.ciferri at gene.com) would
be happy to answer any informal questions you may have about this role. *We
will close this application within the next two weeks.*

All the best,

Alexis Rohou and Claudio Ciferri
