Dear all,
A 4-year PhD studentship is available to study the structure of bacterial
transport systems in situ. This is a joint project between Peijun Zhang's
group at the eBIC, Diamond Light source
(https://www.diamond.ac.uk/Instruments/Biological-Cryo-Imaging/eBIC.html)
and Ben Luisi's group at the Department of Biochemistry, University of
Cambridge (https://www.bioc.cam.ac.uk/research/uto/luisi). The project will
involve generation of bacterial strains expressing engineered transport
assemblies, collecting tomographic data and carrying sub-tomogram averaging
from these specimens. Interested candidates should contact Profs Peijun
Zhang (peijun.zhang at diamond.ac.uk <mailto:peijun.zhang at diamond.ac.uk> ) or
B.F. Luisi (bfl20 at cam.ac.uk <mailto:bfl20 at cam.ac.uk> ).
Best,
Peijun
