Dear All,
The Microscopy and Imaging Center (MIC) of Texas A&M University (TAMU) will be conducting a 3 days’ workshop on the application of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) in different research fields on June 10-12, 2019.
The workshop will comprise of several lectures covering application of cryo techniques for different biological specimen and soft matter, usage of SEM in the field of medical research, nanotechnology, geochemistry, mineralogy, thermofluid study, environmental engineering and water purification. Lectures from application specialists from Leica, Thermofisher, Tescan, Zeiss, Hitachi and Ametek will highlight the latest technological developments in cryo SEM, cryo-FIB, Serial Block Face SEM and high resolution SEM. There will be hands-on training for sample preparation, imaging using the different SEMs at MIC. A short session for computational image analysis of datasets from cryo-FIB/Serial Block Face SEM will be conducted. We have a very limited number of seats for the hands-on practical session. Therefore we will encourage to register for the workshop at the earliest.
The course is ideal for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers with no or limited experience in SEM and for faculties who are planning to implement usage of high resolution SEM, cryo-FIB, Serial Block Face SEM to their projects to bring their research work to a succeeding platform.
