Dear structural biology enthusiasts,
A postdoc position is available in my lab. Please see below.
*POSTDOCTORAL POSITION*
*at Brown University, USA*
The Deaconescu Lab at Brown University is seeking an ambitious and
energetic postdoctoral. The laboratory's interest is the interplay
between DNA repair and other cellular processes including transcription
and chromatin remodeling, and is focused on elucidating the function and
mechanochemistry of DNA-based motors using a combination of biochemical,
biophysical and structural techniques. (e.g. X-ray crystallography,
small-angle X-ray scattering, transmission electron microscopy). For
examples of work, please see Deaconescu et al. Photochem. Photobiol.

al., PNAS (2012), Szyk et al., NSMB (2012), Deaconescu et al., TIBS
(2012), Deaconescu et al, Cell (2006). A successful candidate should
have the following qualifications: a Ph.D. in the field of Molecular
Biology, Structural Biology and Biochemistry or related field; an
established track-record of publications in peer-reviewed journals; some
experience with protein biochemistry, and _*solid experience with grid
preparation, EM data collection and processing*_. Opportunities for
training in biochemistry and X-ray crystallography will be provided
depending on the candidate's background and interests.Must be highly
motivated and be able to work independently as well as in a team.
