Dear colleagues,

The cryo-EM group at Genentech is looking for an intern for the summer
of 2018. We would be grateful if you could bring this to the attention
of talented students in your labs.

Internships are paid positions open to pre-doctoral students at the
undergraduate or postgraduate levels, with a duration of ~ 12 weeks.
They are wonderful opportunities to experience research in a unique
industrial setting.

The project would be tailored to the skills and interests of the
selected candidate, though we are particularly looking for students
interested in computational or algorithmic aspects of cryo-EM. Potential
topics could include, but are not limited to: image processing, modeling
of protein+ligand complexes, informatics and data management, instrument
control, sample handling, etc. Motivated candidates interested in other
aspects (biochemistry, sample preparation...) are also encouraged to apply.

Our facility is equipped with a Krios/GIF/K2, a Talos 200C, and all the
usual ancillary equipment. We benefit from excellent IT infrastructure
including unrestricted access to a large compute cluster.
