Open Positions in Cryo Electron Microscope Center of

Zhejiang University (In constructing)

 

To meet the growing demand for scientific research, Zhejiang University has decided to start the construction of Biomedical Electronic Microscope Center. Principle investigator and technician positions are now open to domestic and overseas researchers.

 

Zhejiang University Biomedical Electron Microscope Center aims to use cryo electron microscopy to carry on the investigation of the structure and function of cell, subcellular organelles and molecular complexes, providing support for the study of cell biology, neurobiology, structural biology and microbiology. The center will be equipped with the highest level of instruments including: Titan Krios 300KV high-resolution and 200KV cryo transmission electron microscope, focused ion beam (FIB) and 3-View scanning electron microscopy, light-electron-combination microscope system and related sample preparation and computer system.

 

Open positions

Center Director: 1 person

The center director will be appointed as professor or distinguished professor of Zhejiang University. He or She will be in charge of the overall construction of the whole electron cryo microscopy system, the management of the operating platform and the development and application of the technology. Qualified applicants should have a doctorate in physics, material science or biology with postdoctoral experience.  He or she should have at least 10 years of research experiencein cryo electron microscopy field with outstanding performance and a good management ability. Principle investigator on cryo electron microscopy:  3~5 persons

Principle investigator on cryo electron microscopy will be appointed as professor of Zhejiang University. He or She can combine the research trends and the developing direction, use cryo electron microscopy as the main research methods, leading an academic research team engaged in their respective areas in a high level. Qualified applicants should have a doctor's degree in relevant field with rich experience and technical expertise in cryo electron microscopy. Technician of electron microscope: 5-8 persons

Technician of the Center will be appointed as assistant engineer, engineer or senior engineer of Zhejiang University experimental series. He or She will be responsible mainly for the maintenance of equipments, the application services for users and user training 

etc. The applicants should have a doctoral or equivalent degree, or with distinctive skill in related field and a good sense of service. Candidates with operating experience in cryo electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy or expert in image processing or calculation is preferred.
